The business management (marketing) (top-up) course is for students that have successfully fulfilled the criteria required; the course builds on existing knowledge and understanding of the business management commercial environment; considers the workings of the business world through its many different aspects including generic business principles and practice as well as the specific themes of business strategy; students develop an enquiring; analytical and creative approach to the study and practice of business management and marketing; the course is made around the latest needs of business and learners are equipped with a range of knowledge and skills that are in great demand by employers; such as time management; communications and information technology; building on existing marketing knowledge and experience; throughout the course students apply and develop critical understanding and awareness of business management; marketing issues and practices; students take an enquiring, analytical and creative approach to the study and practice of business management and marketing; students are expected to possess knowledge and understanding of traditional business management and marketing concepts such as branding and advertising as well as current developments and trends - including the impact of environmental issues; social marketing and the internet;
Level 2: Students with a relevant HNC or equivalent study modules at Level 2; these are: financial decision making for business managers; managing organisational behaviour; research methods or operations management; work experience; marketing communications and international marketing; some modules from level 1 may also be required. Level 3: Students with a relevant HND, or equivalent study modules at Level 3; these are drawn from: project; investigative study; contemporary management issues; strategic management; marketing management; marketing strategy; buying behaviour; some modules from Level 2 may also be required..
