This programme draws on postgraduate modules offered by the Departments of Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, and Psychology; each scheme of study is divided into 2 parts; part 1 is a wholly taught component consisting of 120 credits, which is taught in teaching block 1 and teaching block 2 of the academic year; part 2 of the scheme is a supervised dissertation, worth 60 credits, in which candidates must produce a critical review of the literature, as well as make an original contribution to the chosen field of study that can be in any area of the taught syllabus.
Compulsory modules: modern microeconomics; firm organisation and innovation; econometric methods; economic forecasting; distributed programming in Java; internet computing; optional modules: management of international finance; financial economics; financial econometrics; labour and personnel economics; marketing; business law; principles and practice of network communications; user interface design: usability, evaluation and cognition; designing algorithms; artificial intelligence applications.
