This course is designed as an introduction for students who wish to develop their competence and skills in measuring the Mechanical, Electrical etc quantities from drawings in accordance with a Standard Method of Measurement leading to the production of a Bill of Quantities. The course consists of taking off quantities and becoming familiar with and terminology. The course reading consists of lesson material and a textbook but does not include a Standard Method of Measurement. Lesson Content: 1 - Contract Documentation, 2 - Method of Measurement of Building Services, 3 - Measurement of Disposal Systems, 4 - Measurement of Plumbing, 5 - Measurement of Heating Installation, 6 - Measurement of Vent / Air Con Systems, 7 - Measurement of Electrical Serv Installation 1, 8 - Measurement of Electrical Serv Installation 2, 9 Measurement of Work to Existing Buildings, 10 Summary & Project Work One. On completion of the course the student should be able to take off quantities for Mechanical & Electrical services to a domestic building and be familiar with the requirements of a Bill of Quantities. The student will be awarded a Premier School of Building Diploma in this subject. The course may be commenced at any time and should be completed within 3 months (i.e.80 hours of study) depending on the students previous knowledge of the subject.
