Our Aims

BSix Brooke House Sixth Form College was set up in 2002 to raise the aspirations and boost the achievements of young people in the East End of London.

We are comprehensive and proud of it. This means we provide courses at all levels of education, from entry to advanced. It also means that we offer a wider range of courses including 30 A-levels and many work-related subjects.

Whatever the level or subject of your course, our expectations are the same. We expect you to aspire to find ways to do better in your studies and to pursue a fulfilling, meaningful career. We expect you to study as hard as you can; the harder you work, the better you will do and the more opportunities will open up for you. We expect you to achieve so that you can enter the next course, university or career of your choice.

Our Pledge

We do not just expect things from you; we have a part of the bargain to fulfil as well. We need to provide the best possible educational experience for you, both in and out of the classroom, we need to help you to remove any barriers in the way of your success, and we also need to make sure you have an enjoyable college experience. You will:

• Have a personal tutor who will track your progress and help you to improve your learning
• Have opportunities to take part in our BSeven programme's e.g. World of work, raising aspirations university programme, clubs & societies, sports & activities and student voice.
• Meet interesting people and build a network of friends
• Have access to a range of services from careers through to counselling, to support you when you need help outside of the classroom

Our facilities are ‘top notch’. 

We have:

• an industry-standard theatre
• tremendous music and music technology kit
• a well-equipped IT suite
• top-class hair salons
• sports hall
• a large, bright Art and Design workshop
• Library
• Diversity Canteen
• Garden of the Ancient World
• Red Room
• Brand New C Block called 'The Village' 

We are always looking to improve our facilities hence refurbishments to the canteen and the new Diversity Kitchen. This is all as well since we did win the Cost Sector Catering University College Award and the first Sixth Form college to do so. The Village was built to create more classroom space for the rising popularity of BSix. The Red Room was created to introduce the Oxbrige atmosphere with antique furnishings where students meet leading academics who give talks to students on the university programmes.

Aiming High

BSix is ambitious for all of its staff and students. We want everyone to strive to be the very best at what they do. All of us can achieve high standards if we aspire, study and work hard.

BSix have proven this through the many awards we have won including the London Education Partnership Award 2010 For “Driving Achievement Forward: Achieving Successful Outcomes Post 16” this is the acknowledgment of the colleges' work with students on Level 2 courses/GCSE’s who then progress onto Level 3 then university.

The AOC Beacon Award for “Staff Development” shows that not only students but also staff at BSix are part of the aiming high and achievement of the college.

BSix have also proven this through the results of the students achieving 100% pass rates at A Level/BTEC Level 3 in such a wide range of subjects.
