Student Story
Student: Laura Carter
Course: Studied on a BTEC National Certificate in Sport at Bromley College from 2005 to 2007
'I’ve always loved sports. I wanted to be a PE teacher but I realised on the course how much I love biology and I became interested in the idea of sports therapy. I got injured and used to see a physiotherapist and thought that perhaps that was something I’d like to do.
I’m a lot more outgoing since coming to Bromley College, I was quite shy when I started and now I can’t stop talking! I learnt things on the course that I didn’t expect like how to get your point across with body language; it’s made me a much more confident speaker.
Studying at the College really opens more doors and it gives you career flexibility. There are so many different aspects to sport and a BTEC can get you into the business, or the practical side. With my qualification I’ll easily be able to get a job in the leisure industry.'
