Course Description
This class enables you to appreciate the rich material resources in Britain and develop your critical understanding of the historical, social and political circumstances that have shaped art and architecture. Guided field trips to places re-enforcing your learning support the classroom discussions. These might include visits to: the National Gallery; Banqueting House; Chiswick House; Kenwood House; Tate Britain; Sir John Soane's Museum.
Course Fees
The cost of Summer School 2008 will be: £2,000 Sterling per student for one class; £2,400 Sterling per student for two classes. The price includes: group transportation to your accommodation from Heathrow or Gatwick airports on 25 June 2008 only (we will send you more information with your acceptance pack); group transportation to Heathrow or Gatwick airports on 26 July 2008 only (we will send you more information with your acceptance pack); tuition fees, field trips and entrance fees for class visits; 31 nights' accommodation in single occupancy bedrooms with washbasin, shared showers/toilets and shared kitchen; lunch on the day of arrival (25 June 2008); library and computing facilities - including email/internet access; a travelcard for one calendar month - giving unlimited travel on the underground, buses and trains throughout Greater London (London zones one-six); welcome reception (26 June) and farewell dinner (24 July); orientation programme - including a walking tour of Kingston town and the University; enrolment at Kingston University and certificate of credits earned on completion of programme. The price does not include: roundtrip airfare and/or other travel costs for getting to the UK; local travel; food and beverages (unless specified); accommodation for friends and family of students; costs of additional travel at weekends.

Entry Requirements
We welcome applicants whose first language is not English, but you will need a good level of competence in both written and spoken English. We also run an English language programme for students intending to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. We welcome applications from mature students.
