This course aims to provide an academic grounding in British Archaeology, and to demonstrate a range of themes within the context of different chronological periods from Palaeolithic to Medieval; an awareness of the skills and techniques needed to recover, process and evaluate archaeological evidence is encouraged; the course is intended for those interested in progressing to further courses, such as the Postgraduate Certificate in Archaeology by Research, or as a background to developing their involvement in more practical aspects of archaeology.
