Why choose us?
If you’re looking for a quality learning experience within a friendly, supportive environment then Blackpool and The Fylde College is for you.
We’re not like the huge universities and what’s more, we don’t want to be. As an institution, our unique selling point is based on the fact we offer a small and
welcoming higher education community, with around 1,500 university-level
students each year.
Our tutors are very approachable and work closely with you to help you to achieve your educational goals. In such a cosy community as ours you’ll find that they’re easier to get hold of too.
We believe that learning itself is a skill so at the beginning of your course you’ll spend time developing the tools you will need as you progress through your studies – skills like preparing academic papers and carrying out effective research.
The atmosphere here is down-to-earth. Unlike many universities we offer small, intimate student groups that allow you to develop closer relationships with your peers and improved contact with tutors.
Everyone here is respected and valued for the individuals they are. We’re firm believers that education should be accessible to all, so we welcome applicants from every background, irrespective of their individual circumstances. The result is a student body that is rich in diversity.
Just because we’re relatively small by university standards, don’t make the mistake of thinking we offer an inferior education. Many of our degrees are awarded by Lancaster University, consistently ranked as one of the top universities in the UK. So at Blackpool And The Fylde College you can enjoy all the advantages of studying at a small institution yet still graduate with a top university degree.
