Birmingham Metropolitan College is the new name for the recently merged Matthew Boulton and Sutton Coldfield Colleges, two of the West Midlands’ most successful colleges.

We officially merged on 1 September 2009, cementing our position as a leading provider of education and training across the West Midlands and the wider region.

Birmingham Metropolitan College has retained the best features of the individual colleges and our aim is to continue to deliver inspirational learning.

Our state-of-the art campuses provide the very best learning facilities for our current 27,000 learners studying at the College, establishing ourselves as the primary education provider in the Birmingham area.

What's on offer
At Birmingham Metropolitan College we offer over 40 A-level subjects and over 100 vocational courses and now have even more choice, more progression pathways and more campuses to study at. We offer a range of vocational and academic courses ranging from entry-level to degree-level qualifications in creative arts, business and professional studies, podiatry, travel and tourism, modern and foreign languages, public services, sport and fitness, humanities, law, psychology and sociology, dentistry, accounts and financial studies, early years, health and social care, hair and beauty, computer games development, ICT, engineering and technology, performing arts, media, construction and utility maintenance, ESOL, skills for life, motor-vehicle maintenance and forensic science.

We are also a leading provider of work-based training through our employer responsive directorate, MET training. We have a reputation for achieving excellence in everything we do, a proven track record with companies across the West Midlands, and a growing reputation throughout the United Kingdom.
