Birkbeck University of London has been London's only specialist provider of part-time higher education since it was founded in 1823. Established experts in the field of part-time education, we have a real understanding of the needs of part-time students. Over 90 per cent of Birkbeck academics are research-active - the highest rate in London - and many are renowned world-class experts in their fields. Birkbeck was voted number one for teaching in the 2005 Student Survey and recently came top in London for student satisfaction in the 2006 survey. At Birkbeck, University of London, you can study a wide range of foundation and first degrees and experience an unrivalled teaching and learning experience.

Full-time University of London degree fees cost around £9,000. At Birkbeck, part-time University of London degree fees cost £4,500 - making the prospect of studying at Birkbeck University of London an attractive one. And, because you can study with us part-time in the evenings, you can continue to earn as you learn and graduate without debt.

What's on offer
Birkbeck University of London is split into four faculties: Arts (incorporating the Schools of English and Humanities; History of Art, Film and Visual Media; History, Classics and Archaeology; Languages, Linguistics and Culture; Law; Philosophy; and Politics and Sociology); Science (Schools of Biological and Chemical Sciences; Crystallography; Earth Sciences; and Psychology); Social Sciences (Schools of Computer Science and Information Systems; Economics, Mathematics and Statistics; Geography; and Management and Organizational Psychology); and Continuing Education. The university offers around 100 undergraduate programmes, more than 140 postgraduate programmes and 1,100 continuing education courses. All undergraduate teaching takes place in the evening.
