This joint degree programme allows students to develop an understanding of the functioning environment through studying the complementary disciplines of biology and physical geography; the important issues covered include the biological and environmental impacts of climate change, the influence of the environment at the physiological and community levels, and the process of environmental management. Year 1: Core modules; evolutionary biology; variety of life; aquatic ecology; life in a changing environment; biodiversity and conservation; geographical skills and application in a changing world; environmental issues for the 21st century; interdisciplinary skills; environmental processes and systems. Year 2: Core modules; cell biology; populations to ecosystems; data collection and analysis; research design and delivery; techniques. Year 3: Core modules; dissertation; plus modules in biology and geography.
