The Biology course offers a broad science degree in an established subject, with opportunities for study abroad or industrial placements; there is 1-to-1 supervision of projects and dissertations, and the course equips students with a good range of subject-specific and transferable skills; the course concentrates on whole organisms, their relationships with the environment and 1 another, and the way in which they have evolved; the Geography course has a broad 1st year, but in the 2nd and 3rd years students specialise in the areas of geography that they find most interesting; field trips visiting both the area surrounding Keele, as well as a series of overseas destinations, are integral to the programme; students also carry out an independent research project on a topic of their choice in the final year.
