The course consists of environmental and laboratory based modules. This gives students a broad biological knowledge and equips them for a wide range of careers, such as Environmental Officers, Conservation Officers, Laboratory Technicians, Research Assistants, and other applied biological work. It also forms an ideal bridge into honours degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Marine Biology, Conservation and Teacher Training. Details are available from the course tutor.
GCSE Level: Normally English, Maths and a Science based subject at Grade C or above, in addition to one of the following. Together with one of the following: A minimum of 60 tariff points at A Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification including a science subject, Access to Higher Education: Considered on an individual basis, Other: Applications from mature students without academic credentials will be considered on an individual basis, National and Advanced Diplomas in a relevant subject are accepted as a progression to a Foundation Degree and HND.
