This course will provide the skills and qualifications required to work as a beauty therapist or holistic therapist. There is a need for trained beauty therapists to work in beauty salons, hotel beauty salons, leisure centres, health spas and luxury liners. The course is varied and interesting with the emphasis on developing practical skills in beauty therapy. You will also have the opportunity for periods of work placements in first class salons. Both courses are divided into units of study. General Route: - Monitor procedures to safely control work operations - Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities - Provide body electrical treatments - Provide facial electrical treatments - Provide body massage treatments - Provide electrical epilation treatments - Provide single eyelash extension treatments - Provide self-tanning services Massage Route: - Monitor procedures to safely control work operations - Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities - Provide body massage treatments - Provide Indian head massage - Carry out massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils - Provide stone therapy treatment - Provide self-tanning services Throughout the course you will be given work-related assignments based on realistic salon scenarios. You must have achieved a Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or equivalent. Candidates will have a personal interview with a course tutor and if necessary will undertake basic skills screening. A tutor reference will be required. Entry by: Interview
