This course builds on analytical and critical thinking skills in a specialised field chosen by the individual student, enhancing communication and research skills and preparing for further postgraduate study. The History major covers the following subjects: advanced sociological theory, reading subject, sociology honours project or dissertation and social research methods. On completion, Graduates with a good academic record will be eligible to apply for entry to a research higher degree, such as the Doctor of Philosophy.
