This course is ideally suited to students who would like to gain a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in their specific sport, whilst continuing to develop their performance levels within their chosen sport. It covers units that include: principles of anatomy and physiology in sport, the physiology of fitness, assessing risk in sport, fitness training and programming, fitness testing for sport and exercise and sports nutrition, sports coaching, practical team sports, exercise, health and lifestyle, instructing physical activity and exercise, sports injuries and analysis of sports performance.
A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C or above, a Level 2 BTEC Diploma at distinction level or a relevant NVQ Level 2.
