In this course, students will study areas including equality, diversity and rights, psychological and sociological perspectives, promoting health, health, safety and security in health and social care, development through life stages, fundamentals of anatomy and physiology for health and social care, developing effective communication in health and social care. There are two pathways available: health studies and social care. From the health studies pathway, after successful completion of the course they can progress to employment and training in health-related professions. From the social care pathway, they may progress such as BSc (Hons) social studies or BA (Hons) social work degrees. Alternatively, they could enter employment in a social care profession.
