In this course, students will develop skills in fashion design, in preparation for a career in the fashion industry. They will study a total of 18 units, which will cover mandatory units for all art and design courses as well as subject specialist units for fashion design, particularly including drawing development, pattern construction, production techniques, CAD/CAM, textiles, garment and accessory design, fashion illustration, surface pattern and decoration techniques. Students will gain valuable skills recognised in this area of the fashion industry. The course will integrate challenging projects containing diverse subject content. They may progress to higher education such as the BA (Hons) fashion design or FdA fashion communication and marketing courses or at another institution and could enter employment.
