This course is to gain a broad knowledge of animation techniques, as well as the ingredients for a diverse portfolio of work which will enable students to progress to higher education or employment. They will study areas including computers in art and design, 2D animation production, digital storytelling, film/video editing and stop-motion techniques, website design, materials techniques and processes, ideas and concepts. They may progress to a higher education course in a related subject and could enter employment.
Students must have four GCSEs at grade C or above, preferably including English, Maths or Art and Design or alternatively, an appropriate Level 2 qualification in an art and design subject and also be expected to show a portfolio of design, drawing and other appropriate work at an interview and demonstrate a strong interest in the subject.
