In this course, students will need to pass 120 credits. The following four modules are mandatory: the hospitality industry (10 credits), providing customer care in hospitality (8 credits), financial control in hospitality (10 credits), principles of supervising customer service performance in hospitality, leisure travel and tourism (2 credits). They will also need to pass a further 90 credits from the following units which will be studied: food service organisation (10 credits), planning and managing a hospitality event (10 credits), alcoholic beverage service (10 credits), European food (10 credits), contemporary world food (10 credits), personal and professional development in hospitality (10 credits), principles of nutrition for healthier food (3 credits), supervisory skills in the hospitality industry (8 credits), food and drinks service (10 credits), personal selling and promotional skills for hospitality (10 credits). After successful completion of the course they may progress to employment in hospitality, leisure travel or tourism or to a higher level course of study such as foundation or BA (Hons) hospitality management.
