This course is suitable for people who wish to work in journalism, film, television production, TV production, radio production or who want to progress to Higher Education. It provides you with a broad-based media education and the practical skills and knowledge required to take your first steps towards a media career in one of the following areas: -Television and Film Production -Journalism -Desktop Publishing -Music Video -Photography -Radio Production Students will achieve UCAS points suitable for Higher Education entry. You will learn about a range of production techniques and conventions, as well as how to analyse the language of the media. The course comprises of units, which include Radio and Television Production, Journalism, Desktop Publishing and Music Video. As part of the course you will shoot and edit your own drama and documentary films, produce radio programmes, and write and design your own newspaper/magazine. Across the entire course you'll be developing the ability and confidence to successfully communicate your ideas to others. The course includes visits from professionals in the Media Industries and outside visits, where you will have an opportunity to see the most recent developments in the media The Functional Skills developed are in English, Maths and ICT. This application to study and any learning agreement entered into shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
