This course offers the students an opportunity to work with a wide variety of art and design materials, techniques and processes. They will explore different areas of the subject such as drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media or more specialist areas like fashion, textiles or 3D design. All practical work is supported by a folder of work, research in sketchbooks and written coursework. They will have the opportunity to work alongside artists and other industry professionals as they study. Modules include contextual references in art and design; 2D visual communication; 3D visual communication; using ideas to explore, develop and produce art and design; building an art and design portfolio; working in the art and design industry.
