The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design is for school leavers aged 16-18. It provides knowledge, understanding and skills in a range of art and design specialist areas. These include traditional fine art skills such as painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture together with the chance to explore design techniques and processes in 3D, ceramics and design crafts. The core units of the course aim to provide a broad-based approach to the art and design sector giving students the opportunity to acquire skills in visual communication using a wide range of media and materials. The specialist units provide the opportunity for students to concentrate on a subject area within the art and design sector. The course is delivered through project briefs and assignments.
