The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science consists of 6 mandatory units plus optional units that provide for a combined total of 180 credits and 1080 guided learning hours (GLH) for the completed qualification. Learners can complete a general Applied Science pathway or alternatively, the qualification provides pathways to the following endorsed titles: Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Medical Science) Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Forensic Science). This structure allows the flexibility to import standard BTEC units (QCF) at Levels 2, 3 or 4 to meet local needs.
