This course will prepare you for degree level study in a wide range of art and design disciplines. The course is run by a highly experienced team of artists and lecturers. With small class sizes, you will benefit from a high level of one-to-one teaching, giving you every opportunity to produce work of an exceptional standard. In turn, this will maximise your chances of gaining a place at one of the best art institutions in and outside London.This highly experimental course will introduce you to a wide range of ideas and processes, encouraging you to work independently to develop your own practice. This is supported by a full programme of gallery visits, as well as lectures from staff who combine their teaching with a strong commitment to their own art practice.As well as excellent specialist studios, City and Islington College also has a gallery space where students are encouraged to make work and curate their own exhibitions. You will need a portfolio of work, and to have achieved one of the following: one A Level and three GCSEs (grades A*-C) A Levels and two GCSEs (grades A-C) five GCSEs (grades A*-C)Other acceptable qualifications are, for example, a degree, a BTECLevel 3 ExtendedDiploma in Art and Design, or overseas qualifications. Applications from mature students without formal qualifications will be accepted, but you must have a passion for the subject and be able to provide evidence of recent relevant study, work or experience.For International StudentsAlong with the above qualifications, you will also need an IELTS 5.5 (with at least 5.0 in each component), or equivalent.
