Today's aerospace industry requires a constant source of well-qualified and trained engineers who are able to apply their skills and knowledge in high technology. It is vital that the aeronautical engineer has a broad-based understanding of Aerodynamics, Aircraft Performance, Aircraft Structures, Conceptual Design, as well as Business and Management Skills. The design of the BSc (Honours) top-up degree course is to enable successful Foundation degree students to continue their academic qualifications in order to pursue a career in aeronautical engineering in the fields of Air Transport Management, Operations Maintenance, Development or Design and Consultancy Services. Careers in the Aerospace Industry are interesting and varied and are at the forefront of technological advancement.
As specified by the University of Surrey's Regulations, applicants will be expected to provide satisfactory evidence of ability to pursue successfully the BSc (Hons) Degree programme. Successful completion of an appropriate course, providing 240 HE Credits, e.g. Foundation Degree/Higher National Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering or Professional Certificate.
