The painting pathway supports the diverse spectrum of approaches within contemporary painting practice. Painting is the starting point from which you establish your own subject matter and methodology, guided by a large, expert staff from predominantly painting backgrounds, but whose professional activity reflects the range of student work and media. The skills of painting practice are promoted, as are the essential conceptual and practical skills needed to thrive as a contemporary artist.
Students should possess Foundation Diploma in Art and Design and 1 GCE A-level and 3 GCSEs grade C or above or BTEC National Diploma or NVQ Level 3, and 3 GCSEs grade C or above.
