Course Description
Intended for students from a range of engineering or closely related physical science or design disciplines, such as industrial design, chemical or applied sciences. The core elements comprise; Automotive Sciences, 3D Computer Aided Design; System Design Evaluation, Optimisation & Noise and Vibration & Refinement. The main aims of the course are to: facilitate the application aspects of automotive science, to the design of a modern and vehicle & sub system; promote understanding of the processes involved in sub system and assembly line processes; utilise high level CAD, in the design & packaging of complex assemblies and combine elements of the taught pathway & modern industrial techniques, in the project undertaking. Modules comprise; Automotive Chassis Systems, Vehicle Dynamic Performance Evaluation, Applied Computer Aided Vehicle Design and Optimisation, Design Analysis, Refinement, NVH and System Measurement, Vehicle Aerodynamics and Air Management, Plus Major project. Options are selected from the following; Research Based Project, Advanced Power Transmissions or Materials Selection and Process Evaluation.

Entry Requirements
Honours degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering systems or a closely related area.
