Course Description
The group research covers a wide range of observational, modelling and theoretical interests. Studies of the cosmic microwave background including the use of the very small array and the planick satellite and gravitational lenses are used to probe the structure of the early universe and the evolution of its contents. A large subgroup is primarily concerned with the physical and chemical state, evolution and dynamics of the interstellar medium with a particular interest in the astrochemistry of intersellar clouds in both our galaxy and other galaxies, star formation, circumstellar envelopes around late-type AGB stars, masers and commentary coma. This group also undertakes a range of technical development including digital and optical fibre technology, radio-frequency engineering, optical instrumentation and software engineering in support of a wide variety of national and international projects.
Course Fees
Fees for 2008 are £3,320 full-time and £1,660 part-time. Course fees are subject to change and you are advised to check the current details with the course provider before enrolling on this course.

Oral examinations and examination of final thesis.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of a 2i class UK honours degree or overseas equivalent is required in a relevant science or engineering discipline or a first degree with an additional UK masters degree or international equivalent.
