This practical course will introduce styles of decoration based on plant forms that emerged and developed during Islam's Golden Age. Governed by geometric principles, these abstract floral and foliate motifs continue to be applied to a range of surfaces today. Students will explore a variety of painting techniques and media to study 'Arabesque' designs and composition. All abilities welcome.
