MARCIA ARTS

I am a practicing creative artist specialising in Fine Art Painting, Portraits and Life drawing. I have taught Art, Craft and Design in and around London professionally for over 11 years. I have worked in over 30 schools in the London area teaching KS3/4 for over 10 years. Taught with the wider community and people of all ages and abilities. I feel my skills are unique in that I have an ability to enable and facilitate learners in such a way to unblock maximum creative potential.

For the past 13 years I have taught as a short course tutor at Central Saint Martins college of Art and Design. It has been a wonderful period of growth as I believe teaching is a two way passage where both tutor and learner engage on a journey of enlightenment. The feedback I have attained through teaching at CSM is phenomenal. People come on my courses saying ‘I can’t ‘ and leave saying ‘I can!’ I am able to achieve an amazing turn around in a relatively short space of time. Why?? Because I love with a capital L what I do with a passion, Creativity is what defines me.

Whilst I am tutoring no matter what capacity age or ability, uppermost in my mind is that you will get it and that you are challenged creatively to achieve, there is no room for anything less. I engage with my students in such a way as to create a learning environment where everyone makes progress and succeeds in their goals. About this course

On this course students can develop their skills in art, craft and design, while preparing a quality portfolio for entry to College or university. The course content is structured and concerned with elements common to all aspects of art, craft and design. Drawing is considered to be of paramount importance on the course. Study is arranged through a series of projects, which are designed to develop visual and manipulative skills. Additional ongoing portfolio support and direction, dissertation research and support. provided for all art disciplines. Tailor made course content developed around your needs Includes: Drawing, Life drawing Painting, Print, mixed media, 3D work Students are advised to bring a basic kit containing: • A selection of sketch pencils including 2b, 4b and 8b • Putty rubber • Masking tape • Charcoal • A3 size pads drawing pad • Glue sticks • A5/A6 Sketch book You may wish to experiment throughout the course with different materials please bring along any of the following: • Coloured pencils • Pure graphite pencils • Inks • Pastels . Paint brushes of various sizes (Please request advice on materials if needed)

All levels welcome: Whether you are a total beginner who lacks confidence, rediscovering your creative ability or needing to compile a portfolio in order to gain access to college or university, this course will provide you with all the necessary tools to go forward.
