Course Description
This course will help students develop their creativity, skills and knowledge and prepare them for a career in Art or Design. They will build a portfolio of work. In the first year they cover a wide range of art and design areas such as: the Exploration of Graphic Design and Illustration, 3D Design in Wood, Metal and Ceramics, Photography and Textiles/Fashion Design, Art History, Fine Art and Drawing. In the second year they have the opportunity to work in their chosen area of specialism, studying ten units from a choice of twenty-two. A Final Major Project in the last term brings together the skills they have gained during the course.

Assessment method
Fifteen units are assessed internally and three are assessed externally. There are no exams.

Entry Requirements
Candidates need five GCSEs at grade C or above including Art, or First Diploma with a Merit grade in Art and Design, plus a satisfactory interview with a portfolio of work.
