This course delivers a lively and explorative introduction to the area of Graphic Design and Visual Communication. The course programme is composed of units grouped as, mandatory units Professional units and a selection of units from the design specialism. All of the units are selected to provide a broad experience of Graphic Design/Visual Communication, to enable students to diagnose their strengths and preferences and to encourage the development of individual creative potential. The course is unit based and assignments are delivered that link to the units which in turn introduce advertising, packaging, publishing, typography, corporate identity, illustration, photography, computer based imaging, storyboards and design and other related areas such as marketing. The course will prepare you for the related areas of Graphic Design, such as Design Management, Illustration, Photography and I.T.
