Course Description
In this course students are elected to specialise in one of the four curriculum areas, each divided into specialist pathways: 1) Fine Art: Painting, Sculpture, Contemporary Practice, Moving Image and Theatre: Design for Performance2) Three Dimensional Design: Arts, Design and Environment, Product Design, Multidisciplinary and Ceramic Design.3) Visual Communication: Illustration, Graphic Design, Fashion Communication and Photomedia4) Fashion and Textiles: Fashion Design, Textile Design, Print Design and Jewellery Design.

Entry Requirements
Entry on to the Foundation course will be based on portfolio assessment and an interview. Since the course normally leads to a degree course, academic qualifications are one of the factors taken into account at the time of assessment. An applicant will be considered for admission who has already achieved an educational level equivalent to passes in one subject at GCSE Advanced Level (80 UCAS tariff points) or a twelve unit AVCE. This should be supported by passes in three other subjects at GCSE Ordinary Level, Grade C or above.Mature students with no formal qualifications are accepted on the course and should apply if they have completed an appropriate Access programme.
