About the course: This course provides an introduction to Art and Design and helps students to develop the knowledge and skills required for progression. There are opportunities to work collaboratively with professional organisations and practitioners and visits to galleries such as the Tate Hayward and Victoria and Albert are organised. Each year a private view of art work is held at the College. Course content: Drawing Painting 3-D design Graphic design Computer imaging Photography Sculpture Functional skills – English Maths ICT After this course: Progression to level 2 qualification. You must be aged 16-18. Students need to have entry level 3 in English and Maths or achieve an equivalent level in the initial College assessment. You will need to provide a portfolio of your recent art and design work and a reference. You should be committed to art practice and have a disciplined and professional approach to your work.
