In term one students will: look at Romanticism in France ( Gericault, Delacroix and Ingres), England (Fuseli, Blake, Palmer, Constable, Turner), Germany (Friedrich, Runge) and America (Thomas Cole ,Frederick Church etc.); and in term two they will look at Realism in France (Courbet, Millet and Daumier) and England ( Victorian social realism), the Pre-Raphaelites and the Symbolist and Aesthetic Movements in England (Burne-Jones, Whistler and Beardsley.
