The purpose of the
Art Academy is to benefit society through Art and Art education.
We are an independent, not-for-profit art school in Central London that offers:

a Diploma course for those aiming to be professional artists.
All courses are taught by experienced, professional tutors, many of whom are respected artists in specialist fields. Classes cover painting, drawing, sculpture, stone carving, kiln formed glass, ceramics and metal clay jewellery making. Sculpture is a particular specialism, and the Academy has one of the best range of sculpture courses on offer in London.
The
Diploma in Fine Art course is uniquely constructed and focuses on skills, creative development and professional development. Our aim is to develop artists with a depth of vision, a passion for exploration, creative mastery,and the skills to enable them to reach their full potential and be successful in the art world. At the Art Academy, all students are encouraged to have fun discovering the artist within themselves. Our role is to facilitate this discovery.
Certificate courses in painting and sculpture offer a good alternative for those who are serious about their art studies but have less time. The new Essential Skills courses are ideal for those starting out or brushing up old skills.
A large pool of experience, expertise and knowledge resides within the
Art Academy with a group of resident artists on hand to share their knowledge and offer their advice.

Art Academy is accredited by the British Accreditation Council for Further and Higher Education (BAC)
Diploma Courses
The Art Academy offers a full-time or part-time intensive 3-year Diploma course, for students aiming to become professional artists. The Diploma course has one of the highest levels of tutored contact hours for any Fine Art course in the UK. The Academy is small enough to care for the development of each individual, encourages confidence and commitment in each student's creative vision, and gives them the means to achieve it. The course has three main strands:

Development of skills: We offer a structured approach to skills development, in a wide variety of fine art mediums. Skill development allows students to manifest their vision and opens up many areas of creative work.

Development of the artist: Students are given confidence to be honest and true to themselves in their creative expression, and to look at the conceptual, emotional and material aspects of the work.

Professional development: Students are given the skills to participate in the world as a practicing artist. They work alongside the Academy's Resident Artists and have a programme of professional development.
Part Time Courses
The
Art Academy offers a wide range of disciplines throughout the weekdays to suit students' availability & interests.
Part Time courses are open to all – from beginners wishing to try their hand at painting, sculpture or other disciplines, to more advanced artists aiming to develop in specific areas.
Certificate courses offer a well-structured 2-year programme of one-day-a-week study, ideal for those serious about their art but unable to commit to full-time study.
Weekend and Short Courses
These
courses give students both a creative experience and technical instruction. Classes are open to all and are run by specialist tutors who help develop student's technical skills and creativity.
Evening Classes
The
Academy’s evening classes are designed to benefit a range of skill levels, these courses run over 10 evening sessions throughout the term.
