This specialism equips students with key contemporary skills, both in theories of design and in material production; new materials, techniques and construction methods are of increasing importance for architects and designers; research is supported in a wide range of areas, with projects such as: interdisciplinary perspectives on the built environment; digital fabrication technologies; architectural representation; physical computing; three-dimensional parametric modelling; high-end rendering; animation; texturing and lighting.
