Course Description

Architects and the designers of our interior surroundings are the driving force behind the design and development of our built environment. Whether they are designing new buildings, giving a new lease of life to existing ones, developing urban spaces, landscapes or contemporary interiors, architects have a profound influence on all our lives. The Kent School of Architecture offers a two year MArch which you can take following the successful completion of a prescribed Part 1 undergraduate architecture degree. The programme complements the University's courses in Urban Studies and Multimedia Technology and Design as well as those offered by the School of Drama, Film & Visual Arts. School staff not only have design expertise and specialist knowledge, they are at the forefront of current architectural issues, including sustainability, technology, professional practice and research. The School of Architecture occupies recently refurbished premises in a self-contained building at the heart of the Canterbury campus. The MArch studios include a dedicated computing suite running AutoCAD, 3D StudioMAX and Adobe Premier, and a range of environmental and construction software supplements computers located in the main top-lit studios. There is also an architecture presentation room and a fully equipped workshop for constructing models and large-scale prototypes.

Course Fees
The standard fee for 2007/08: £3350 (full-time); part-time pro-rata. Course fees are subject to change and you are advised to check the current details with the course provider before enrolling on this course. Fees vary according to the subject chosen (especially in respect of Science & Management disciplines); details of 2008/09 fess will be available from the provider from March 2008.
