Architecture is the most public, the most expensive and the most pervasive of all the arts; it is shaped by politics and economics, and fashions and responds to the social life of cities and communities; the course covers 4 main themes: renewal and regeneration, landscape and the space between buildings, the design of housing and communities, and urban planning and the quality of urban life.
Stage 1: Habitat; house and housing; navigation; point and click; portal; portmanteau; sensibilia; western architecture. Stage 2: adapt and extend; advanced computer modelling and animation; form and structure; landscape; the post-Enlightenment interior. Stage 3: management, practice and law; modular; urban; options: building appraisal; dissertation; interdisciplinary option.
