Course Description
This module aims to give students an appreciation and understanding of the architectural heritage which surrounds them. They will cover historic periods, the architectural styles of those periods, and architectural features. They will be made aware of transitional periods and overlap, and revivalism. Comparisons with European styles will be drawn. Students will practice identification of styles and features through class work and fieldwork. They will also evaluate materials and construction methods used in historic buildings.
