This course consists of two modules that focus on archaeological techniques, methods and interpretation of the physical evidence. Participants begin by studying the Archaeology of Religion and Beliefs in Prehistoric Europe from 30,000 BC to AD43. This module involves exploring the nature of past belief systems and how these are visible in the archaeological remains. Sites that will be studied will include Lascaux, New grange and Stonehenge. The second module involves how archaeologists use aerial photography, survey and excavation to investigate the prehistoric past and then how this evidence is analysed to produce an interpretation.
