This is a level 1 course and is equivalent to the first year of full-time campus-based study for a BA in Archaeology; successful completion currently guarantees entry into the level 2 distance-learning diploma course, or to second-year of on-campus study, but may be subject to capping.
Comprises 6 x 20-credit modules from: aims and methods in archaeology; early prehistory; later prehistory; introduction to classical archaeology; medieval archaeology; historical (post-medieval and industrial) archaeology; the archaeology of Egypt, Nubia and the Middle Nile.
