Course Description
Norfolk and Suffolk are rich in archaeology. The surviving churches, ancient monuments and artefacts that are still being found in the soil reflect the region's prosperity over the centuries. We will start by studying the geography of the area and the first settlers during the Paeolithic and Mesolithic periods. We shall gain an insight into early society and culture, by looking at surving settlements, tombs, forts and monuments from the Bronze and Iron Ages through to the Roman, Anglo-Saxon and Viking eras. This promises to be a fascinating exploration of the landscapes and lives of East Anglia 's past. No previous experience required.
