Have you ever wondered why one art work is valued over another or why contemporary art is rarely concerned with beauty Are there different ways to look at and appreciate art In a relaxed and supportive environment, students will be introduced to major artists and movements of the 20th century. This course will look at the historical, social and political forces that have shaped art today. It will help you to think critically about different types of art and ideas about art. It is for beginners and those with some knowledge of art history, and includes study activities, such as gallery visits.
