The course offers a broad training in applied environmental geology and provides a range of skills, including the design and execution of ground investigations, analysis of geotechnical and geoenvironmental data, report writing and oral presentations.
Modules include: geotechnical engineering; the engineering behaviour of soils; land contamination, assessment and remediation; remote sensing and geophysics; environmental assessment and regulation; water in the environment; transferable skills; project planning, design and management; plus industrial placement with engineering consultancy, local authority, and other environmental agencies; site-based project work leads to submission of dissertation.
