This is an enhanced undergraduate course and is specifically, but not exclusively, designed for those who wish to make a career in research and to achieve professional status; the course places a strong emphasis on hands-on laboratory work and applications, supported by a thorough grounding in theoretical aspects, providing you with the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in industry, teaching or research; at least 40 per-cent of the curriculum involves laboratory or computer based experimentation and access to modern instrumental techniques will be paramount in your development; the final year involves the selection of advanced topics as well as an extensive (6 modules) research exercise.
