About Anniesland College
Overview
Anniesland College, based in the west end of Glasgow, offers full-time and part-time courses in a wide range of subjects from NC to HND level. The College has seven departments:
- The Business School
- Communication, English and Highers
- Computing
- Design and Construction
- Engineering
- Hospitality, Sport and Creative Arts
- Social and Community Studies.
Within these departments you will find a broad range of subjects including English for Other Languages (ESOL), Dance, Art and Musical Instrument Making as well as subject areas including Accounting, Business, Computing, Interactive Media (multimedia) and Social Sciences.
Anniesland College has a strong international reputation and is Accredited by the British Council. We are delighted that people from over 70 countries choose to study at Anniesland College. We also have excellent links with Universities and many of our students progress to further study at UK universities.
In January 2009, the College opened a brand new main building offering state-of-the-art facilities to students. The second phase of this work is due for completion in 2010 and will see staff and students from our Balshagray campus join those at the main Hatfield Campus.
All of our courses are delivered in environments that are specially tailored to the needs of the course. Many classrooms are fitted with SMART boards and we provide a number of specialist facilities designed to help you get the most out of your studies. The College also has a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which is an online resource which has been designed to allow you to access materials for course work and to submit course assignments.
Anniesland College Learner Services can offer you guidance and advice to help you choose the right course to study and can also help you make sure you have the right support in place to help your learning progress whilst at college. Support available includes:
- Funding advice
- Help with Child care
- Preparing you for employment / progression to University
- Skills Development support
- Assistive Technologies.
Anniesland College Library offers you a great place to study with a suite of PCs including wireless internet access and access to a source of books, journals, CDs, DVDs and newspapers to consult or borrow.
