Course Description
The Lincoln School of Agriculture at the Riseholme Campus of Lincoln University offer vocational courses to 14-16yr olds who can attend college for one day a week to study a vocational option alongside their school GCSEs. The aim of this programme is to create enhanced vocational and work related learning opportunities for 14-16 year olds in Lincolnshire who can benefit most from a flexible curriculum. It provides a range of BTEC First Diploma and C&G Certificate qualifications working in partnership with local schools. Programmes are also available at Holbeach campus and the objectives and aims are to: raise the attainment in national qualifications of participating pupils; increase pupils’ skills and knowledge; improve pupils’ social learning and development; increase retention in education and training after 16. This course is aimed at pupils who should achieve level 4 in their SATs. Each certificate covers a variety of different topics. You learn by completing projects, practical tasks and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

Assessment method
Assessment of the progress of a student is continuous. The qualification is accomplished by a series of written assignments, practical and written assessments. A portfolio of evidence is required and this graded Pass, Credit or Distinction
