BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering
Civil Engineering BEng (Hons)
by DaveM - December 2012

The course content is satisfactory, the lecture standards are mediocre and the lecturers are, on the whole, not willing to provide support outside of lecture hours (or even in lecture hours in some cases). The substance of the lectures doesn't meet the requirements for the exams in general and the allocated time for the exams is unreasonable as a whole. The course is constantly changing and, consequently, so too are the modules. This can present problems with regard to consistency (believeme, et al., 2012). Part-time and full-time students have also expressed dismay at the 'rushed' nature of the content within the degree. The University of Wolverhampton strikes me as a University with great aspiration in civil engineering which may come to fruition in the future, however, at present it is not a particularly enjoyable learning experience due to the points mentioned above.
